Title: Production/Process Engineer
Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: Production Manager
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to technically support the production department insuring optimum production is achieved to the highest levels of quality and health and safety.
Drive continuous improvement in all areas of the organisation, promoting best practice.
Working closely with other departments to insure cost effective efficient operations are in place.
Principal Accountabilities
Quality
1. Maintain high quality levels while promoting a quality-focused culture among the team.
2. Ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and in accordance with company procedures and clients requirements.
3. Liaise with Quality department staff to ensure we are quality compliant in all areas of manufacturing.
4. Ensure all relevant documentation is completed as per company procedures.
5. Complete corrective action reports in a timely manner.
6. Responsible for the creation of all related quality documentation for the manufacturing department.
7. Maintain and promote high standards in house keeping.
Productivity / Output
1. Set up all new production lines in conjunction with the production team to achieve optimum performance in terms of quality, output and safety.
2. Participate and contribute to the mobilization of all new projects.
3. Work closely with Design Department to insure design for manufacture.
4. Work closely and support procurement department to insure the supply of correct quality materials.
5. Develop relationships and work closely with local engineering suppliers.
6. Source, set up and train all staff on new pieces of equipment, new manufacturing techniques or new materials.
7. Stay abreast of all new developments within the industry.
8. Train staff where appropriate and required.
9. Ensure relevant procedures and work instructions are in place, up to date and adhere to company policy for all manufacturing tasks.
10. Ensure all manufacturing is in compliance with the required company quality standards and operating procedures.
11. Lead continuous improvement throughout the company using Lean Manufacturing and GMP techniques.
12. Indentify training needs and develop or implement training programs to insure the company's objectives can be achieved.
13. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company policy in regard to health and safety.
14. Record and when appropriate take action in relation to any manufacturing related issues/changes that may have an adverse effect on the company's objectives, informing same to your direct manager.
15. With the support of your direct manager liaise and/or drive other departments as necessary to insure the company's goals will be achieved.
16. In conjunction with maintenance personnel insure company facilities, plant and equipment are maintained to an appropriate standard through an agreed preventative maintenance schedule.
17. Support the production plan. Both short and long term in line with live projects.
18. Prioritise work as changes occur.
19. Reduce reject production levels and identify and resolve problematic processes.
20. To schedule every work centre in your department ensuring that the schedule reflects and meets the customer's required delivery dates and company targets.
21. Attend daily production meetings and take action on any issues which may have an adverse effect on production.
