Title: Facilities & Maintenance Engineer
Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: General Manager
Job Purpose
To put in place and operate an ISO compliant preventative maintenance system for all company equipment.
Where possible take care of unplanned maintenance or manage external contractors when needed.
Manage and upkeep company facilities and services.
Principal Accountabilities
Quality
1. Ensure that all staff and subcontractors under your supervision are quality aware at all times in relation to both product and services provided to and on the behalf of the company.
2. Liaise with Quality department staff to ensure our own and customer standards are realised.
3. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and calibrated as per manufacturer's recommendations and our internal procedures.
4. Ensure all relevant documentation is filled out as per company procedures.
5. Maintain and promote high standards in house keeping.
Productivity / Output
1. Maintain company facilities, plant and equipment to an appropriate standard.
2. Service all equipment in line with manufacturers guide lines.
3. Develop manage and maintain the company's preventative maintenance program.
4. Where possible carryout any unplanned maintenance tasks as they arise.
5. Manage external contractors where they are required to carry out machine repair.
6. Ensure adequate cost efficient maintenance and service is supplied via appropriate selection and vetting of subcontractors.
7. Insure all lifting equipment has been appropriately certified and checked and predetermined intervals.
8. Assist in the sourcing and installation of new equipment and production lines.
9. Provide cover to the production and site operations in the event of breakdowns.
10. From time to time you may be asked to assist other engineers as workloads dictate.
11. Carryout training of production staff where necessary.
12. Put in place work instructions and risk assessment where required.
13. Develop and maintain good working relationships with all service providers (Electricity, Water, Etc)
Human Resources
1. Maintain and promote a good working relationship between staff.
2. Promote an interdepartmental teamwork culture.
3. Promote and support the company's plans for continuous improvement.
4. Assist in the selection and training of departmental staff.
5. Ensure all operatives adhere to company health and safety policies procedures and instructions.
