Job Description
Leap29 have a position with a leading Operator in Norway to join a large offshore platform upgrade project. An initial 12 month contract with a 2 week on/ 4 week off rotation. The Offshore Construction Manager will be expected to spend some time in offices in Risavika and Kristiansund briefing and coordinating with onshore Construction Team between each offshore period. JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to manage offshore construction for a series of projects for a Platform reporting to Site by close coordination with Project Construction Manager and Projects Commissioning Manager. The project portfolio includes life extension upgrade works, an ALQ and Lifeboat replacement project, In addition there is a significant scope of E&M project work that will be performed by EPCm for an Operations based support organisation. There will be close liaison with this client, as delivery will by via EPCm at Kristiansund, and offshore through the Construction organisation. Completion of projects to end 2013 require an HLV and Flotel campaign in that year. Modules installation will be with an HLV campaign in 2015. Offshore Construction manager will manage a team that will coordinate installation at including both continuous brown field construction (piping, structural, power, instrument, ISO etc), module and major structure installation with HLV and Flotel construction campaigns, at the Platform throughout the period from 2012 to 2016 through liaison with Construction Manager, and Commissioning Manager. Offshore Construction Manager will deliver all construction, including MC, pre-commissioning function testing, area clearance and formal handover to Operations. (Pre)Commissioning phase will be through close liaison with Commissioning Manager. The Position will be offshore rotation based (2 weeks on and 4 weeks off rotation) with office liaison in Kristiansund and visits to the various sites to liaise with site representation as required. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Key elements of the position include: - Construction planning, performance tracking and control. - Communications and relationship management with contractors. - Interface management Effective Offshore Construction Management - Effective construction indirects management - Flawless Champion through construction Transition management to commissioning - Operations Offshore Safety Champion. - Coordination with Commissioning Manager KEY CHALLENGES: - Subcontractor interfaces (HLV, ALQ Fabricator, C&A contractor) - Schedule - Integration between Field Projects, and Integration Projects to Operations at the field.
