Our client is a thermal power plant, located at Madinat Zayed (180 kms from Abu Dhabi)
JOB PURPOSE:
• Lead & supervise team of Electrical, Instruments & Controls technicians, focusing on efficient and effective compliance with the daily routine, scheduled predictive and forced outage/breakdown maintenance plans to ensure that E & I & C equipment are properly maintained as per requirements.
• Supervise, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and fabrication works for all E & I & C equipment. Overseeing maintenance activities as per procedures, standards, specifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
(During plant pre-start-up phase):
• Participate in Plant commissioning activities, raise E& I&C punch list items and warranty claims as appropriate.
• Support and assist in the continuous improvement of HSSEQ policies and procedures.
• Review vendors' documents, maintenance manuals and spare parts lists. Draft Electrical & Instruments maintenance procedures necessary for Plant operations and participate in CMMS development and implementation.
(During Plant operational phase):
• Manage subordinates and E& I&C contractors, directly guide, supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the direct report E& I&C maintenance personnel.
• Supervise and coordinate E& I&C day to-day maintenance activities, rectify defects as appropriate, manage emergency repairs and trouble-shooting activities to immediately determine the cause of failures and identify how to prevent failures in the future.
• Supervise E& I&C workshop and staff activities, regarding maintenance work execution. Coordinate E& I&C support with both the PASS System and IT Engineers .
• Manage, Raise, Review Work Permits for each job performed by E& I&C team as required by procedures.
• Perform frequent on-site inspections to ensure proper work execution and check on direct hire and contract technicians activities.
• Manage and coordinate preparation of E& I&C maintenance activities with the plant Planner, ensure materials required for job performance are available in correct quantity and quality, ensure Maintenance plans are carried out on-time and that tasks performed are properly recorded in CMMS.
• Participate in Plant performance and availability improvements and operations and maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects/issues in the Plant design or installation. Propose implementation and modification plans to E& I&C equipment. Manage department to reduce equipment downtime and ensure high Plant availability. Identify operationing trends, provide analysis of root causes and recommend implementation corrective action plans to support continuous improvement of the Plant operations.
• Assist in preparing maintenance budget, work cost estimates, purchase orders and contracts for E& I&C maintenance activities in coordination with management and personnel in charge.
• Monitor E& I&C maintenance activities cost, and take necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance with approved plans and budgets.
• Ensure staff and Contractors have all needed resources and tools to properly and safely conduct E& I&C maintenance activities effectively and according to appropriate contract terms and conditions.
• Evaluate pertinent reports related to cost and progress of E& I&C maintenance activities and transmit analysis to Maintenance Manager, issue reports as required for maintenance department.
• Recommend new maintenance plans, procedures and schedules for E& I&C equipment.
• Review E& I&C equipment spare parts lists and recommend parts inventory and stock levels.
• Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Enforce HSSE and Quality policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of maintenance activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non-conformance.
