Part I-General
Position Title: Shift Supervisor
Country: Saudi Arabia/Jeddah
Division: Production Department
Reporting to: Production Manager Assistant
Part II-Broad Function
Controls the manufacturing process, during one of the shifts, from the raw material preparation up to the end of the packing operation. Ensures compliance to recipe during the shift. Ensures products are manufactured in accordance with instructions, economical and in a most hygienically and safe manner.
Part III-Principal Responsibilities
- Technical Duties:
• Ensures correct allocation to the working places.
• Enforces strict compliance to standard operating procedures by all personnel within the shift.
• Ensures that working areas are kept clean and the rooms are maintained in order, this includes the installations, too.
• Ensures cleanliness of the lines even during idle times.
• Checks and enforces personnel hygiene, e.g. protecting clothing shoe change, hand disinfections and hand wash.
• Checks the product at the various stages to ensure prescribed quality and takes corrective actions in case of deviation to ensure compliance with the manufacturing instruction.
• Prepares requisition of raw material and packing materials. Checks the quality and quantity of materials received from the warehouse.
• Prepares store requisitions for sundry materials. Checks the quality and quantity delivered from the store.
• Informs superior of any problem beyond his own control.
• Receives advice from the laboratory and NGMP coordinator regarding product quality, hygiene, and acts accordingly.
• Coordinates with the engineering/line fitters in case of malfunction or breakdown of machines by submitting job requests.
• Advise operators for unsafe practices and reports risky situation; if any to superior.
• Observes strict personal hygiene e.g. correct clothing and regular hand washing.
• Controls attendance, store requisition, receiving report, purchase request in relation to the field of activities.
• Controls hygiene and good cleaning practice of the team.
• Control of instruments according to QMS.
• Fills the process control sheets completely and correct.
• Adheres strictly to QMS and NGMP.
Part IV - Principal Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties:
• Prepares the shift rotation, checks regular attendance of all personnel working within the shift.
• Records irregularities on the daily attendance control and prepare the weekly work distribution.
• Accomplishes daily production records (losses in raw and packaging material, feed back reports); foster correct in-line reporting.
• Daily production records in FMS1.
• Motivates personnel to watch constantly over the visual quality of raw and packing materials and finished products. Holds them in case of doubts and informs the superior immediately.
• Coordinates with the following shift for planning and lookout for non-routine events.
• Assists the Production Executive in commenting the variance report.
- Control Duties:
• Takes instruction from Production Executive and communicates with personnel.
• Organizes cleaning or alternative work in the event of machine breakdown.
• Reports to laboratory if there are any pest or rodents activities for correction action.
• Gives instructions to relevant personnel of the section including the line fitter.
• Ensures all personnel use prescribed protective clothes.
•Checks the hygiene (personnel, equipment, building and environment).
•Participates actively with the help of production planning at the monthly inventory.
•In charge of all operations, when on night shift.
- Responsible Duties:
•Adheres strictly to net weight instruction; continuously ensures its proper application.
•Can stop any installation in case of dangerous events or in case of quality problems, which cannot be handled on the spot.
•Is delegated to enforce discipline among personnel, but reports to the production executive for disciplinary action.
