Job Description:
The incumbent's main duty is to follow all instructions concerning the health and safety of all site staff and cooperate with Local Authorities Regulation policy and work place committees and health and safety representatives. If site staff are likely to be exposed to risk of injuries/accidents in the workplace notify the Resident Engineer and Contractor's Health and Safety Engineer about the investigation, maintain a record of all risks / hazardous substances used or stored in the workplace, ensure that each staff is made aware of every known or foreseeable health or safety hazard/risk in the site.Responsible for ensuring that all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted.
Also the job responsibilities includes:
•Use all safety materials, equipment, devices and clothing that are provided by the contractor and are intended to protect the all site staff.
•Follow procedures that relate to the health and safety of staff,
•Follow all instructions provided by the Engineer, Project Manager, Local Authorities concerning the health and safety of staff.
•Cooperate with any person carrying out a duty or function required by the Codes and standards
•Cooperate with policy and work place committees and health and safety representatives;
•Investigate accidents, incidents and injuries to find out root causes and trends,
•Minimization of Hazardous Waste, its effective management to profit the Environment,
•Health, Hygiene and welfare of staff..
•Train employees for operational and constructional hazards such as dealing with fire prevention, first aid, emergency procedures, welding & cutting, scaffolding, rigging, working at height and other technical training.
•Advise the senior management about areas of weakness within HSE management system and implementation of the system.
•Advised and assist management for preparing, implementing, amending and correcting HSE plans and policy as per the current HSE legislation and complying with International Safety Standards
•Organized HSE Forums / meetings
•Developed Risk Assessments for construction projects and offices
•Conducted regular and thorough safety inspections.
•Documented and reported all matters relating to safety requirements

•Inspection of Mandatory and Task Specified PPEs on construction site.
•Inspection of all the Vehicles and other instruments working on site.
•Inspection of Housekeeping situation on the site.
•Preparation of Risk Assessment and Method Statement for Major activities.
•To arrange basic facilities for workers Like Toilet, clean Drinking Water and Eating Rest Area, Designated Smoking Area.
•Inspection of First Aid room and box on regular basis.
•Inspection of Fire Extinguishers and Fire Alarm System.
•Inspection of Emergency Exit ways and Assembly Points.
•Emergency Evacuation Training to workers and Staff.
•Keep and update log of accidents on site.
•Report monthly HSE status to RE and PM
