In Egypt, Shell celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011. It first entered the country in 1911 to operate two concessions in Gemsa and Hurghada. Today Shell has a number of joint ventures and interests in Egypt where most of its upstream operations are located in the Western Desert.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for managing all aspects of the Contract in accordance with the Contract and Company Contracting Policies and Procedures.
- Accountable for preparation of the technical, commercial content of all Well Engineering and C&WI contracts.
- Accountable for ensuring that the Bapetco contracting process is followed through and provide assistance to the Contract holders in this process.
- In consultation with materials and contract departments, formulate overall contracting and procurement strategies and tactics in order to achieve the business objectives.
- Assist the Company representatives in resolving contractual issues and claims from contractors, including handling negotiations where necessary.
- Liaise with C&P Department on contracting policies and procedures and any revisions thereto.
- Ensure contract expenditure is monitored and systems in place to do this effectively.
- In collaboration with C&P, ensure that procurement of goods and services for well delivery provides the highest quality for the lowest cost, and that contracting strategies are appropriate and robust.
- Contract Management: Contract Holder for selected contracts and managing contractor performance.
- Driving BPR for major contracts.
- Develop National staff and enhance their Contract Holder role and Technical Capacities.
