Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
• Reviews and coordinates with head of design section all structures re-designed initiated by contractor or due to field requirements.
• Ensures that works are carried out in compliance with the latest structural drawings.
• Ensures that the structural drawings are in line and coordinated with other discipline design drawings for the project prior proceeding with structural work and to highlight to the project manger of any discrepancies for necessary corrections.
• Inspects site for civil/structural works and makes sure that carried out works are in compliance to contract drawings and documents. Advises the Project Manager accordingly of any discrepancies.
• Conducts site visits to advise Project Managers of any field issues and attends any co-ordination meetings required.
• Conducts site inspections to ascertain standards of safety and structural quality are being met.
• Maintains job records, text reports and similar documentation.
• Liaises with all contractors on site, guides and instructs the site personnel to ensure high quality as necessary
• Attends to any other structural-related work activities/issues at sites.
Functional Relationships
Internal:
• Provide support to Project Managers to ensure projects are running smoothly in areas of structural engineering by providing expert knowledge and advice.
External:
• Liaises with and supervises contractor to ensure works are performed as per contract specifications.
Experience / Qualification
• Minimum Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
