Senior Welding + Materials Engineer (Subsea) - Norway (#441356125) Apr 5th 2012, 16:00 Posted: 05 April 2012 at 16:00   Expires: 19 April 2012 at 16:00 Posted In: Engineering > Construction - Subsea Location: Norway > Stavanger Job Description Senior Subsea Fabrication Engineer (Welding and Materials) - Norway My client is one of the largest installation contractors in the Norwegian oil & gas industry and URGENTLY looking for Senior Fabrication Engineer with a speciality in welding & materials in subsea structures like umbilicals, flowlines and risers. You will also be effectively involved in quality control procedures and technical solutions in fabrication, coating and material selections. Responsibilities: -Providing a strong focus on quality assurance and quality control in terms of driving and setting internal QA/QC procedures for ensuring that all products are right and fit for purpose -Plan and organize work load for yourself and relevant team -Effective technical solutions in structures, umbilicals, risers, flowlines also including welding and material challenges -Provide technical advice on fabrication and material matters like corrosion, coating selections, material selections, industry regulations and guidelines and welding procedures -Perform sub-contractor follow up as required -Drive and perform studies to evaluate welding and material aspects of specific installation activities -Liaise with 3rd parties and clients as necessary -Develop specifications for procurement and fabrication of various SURF subsea products ie structures, rigid spools, protection covers, flowlines, umbilicals -Undertake offshore trips as required -Ensure consistent, efficient and high quality engineering driving safety and overall performance Requirements: -Engineering degree/ Extensive experience with diplomas/certificates in relevant fields like NDE, welding & coating -More than 5 years of relevant experience from the Oil & Gas industry -Experienced working on subsea structures -Experienced in materials & mechanical engineering subjects APPLY NOW if You have the relevant experience!!!
