Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree (Preferably USA, UK Graduates).
An engineer whose primary role is to manage and complete own engineering/sub-contractors/suppliers tasks as delegated within an interdisciplinary team in a professional manner, and to provide technical engineering support and advice to their team.
The candidate will typically be responsible for particular elements and contractors within an overall (typically multi-£m) contract or contracts
- Undertake own engineering activities and provide day-to-day engineering guidance to a team, making engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
- Provide support to the team in matters of technical understanding and in areas of own expertise.
- Manage own elements of engineering work package(s), ensuring requirements are delivered to plan and specification.
- Contribute to team planning, risk management, and quality and safety to support the effective functioning of the team.
- Keep up to date in relevant technical areas and develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide more effective services.
- Demonstrate and promote a commitment to continuous improvement both in own activities and in the work of the team.
- Oversee and manage the work of sub-contractors - including visiting contractual premises - to ensure that all contractual outcome are delivered in line with agreements, resolving or escalating issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate fully in design reviews to ensure that designs meet contractual requirements.
- Evaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements.
- Contribute to developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and business need.
