The position holder is employed as a Commercial Manager and is required to progress his identified job tasks in a diligent and efficient way as directed by the Commercial Director UK Operations.
Key Requirements
The position holder should preferably be educated to degree level and should have some reasonable working knowledge in managing and controlling all commercial, cost and contractual aspects of a business. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications at the discretion of the Company.
Job Description
• Accountable for maximising the commercial opportunities within the structure of all contracts.
• Accountable for ensuring that all tenders received from clients are returned with correct quality, quantity and clarity and that all client requirements are met and answered fully.
• Accountable for ensuring all commercial processes are delivered in line with the company procedures and policies.
• Accountable for setting up agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Accountable for the quality of invoicing from Invoicing Department.
• Accountable for quality of contract administration from Contract Administrators.
• Accountable for ensuring that Commercial Co-ordinator control and ensure that Commercial Dep't perform their work in professional manner and in line with company objectives.
• Ensuring that all contract rates, prices, etc are amended accordingly at appropriate annual / anniversary intervals.
• Accountable for the submission of accurate annual forecasts and budgets to the finance Dep't and the progress reporting on each.
• Accountable for ensuring that all monthly commercial reporting is submitted to Finance Department in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate and contribute as a key member of the UK Operations Team regarding strategy, improvement plans, business development, resourcing and staffing and any other issues as required by Commercial Director
• Review all tenders received from clients and co-ordinate all activities in the response process.
• Arrange tender start-up meetings and delegate sections of the tender to relevant parties for input to submission document.
• Propose company overhead and profit mark-up's to individual tenders.
• Review contract terms & conditions to ensure that there is no risk to the company commercially.
• Review, sign off and submit all tender submissions ensuring in accordance with client instructions.
• Ensure that project team receives all necessary information from tender document on contract award.
• Ensure that a member of the Commercial Dep't is in attendance at all client project meetings to ensure full commercial, cost and contract support.
• Liaise with Tendering Manager and Commercial Co-ordinator on a daily basis to ensure effective communication of company objectives.
• Establish and maintain a continuous improvement process and culture within the Commercial Department that enhances returns to the Company and up-skills the resources in the department.
