Our client, a local company is currently seeking to recruit Specialist-Mechanical Engineering. You will be directly reporting to the CTO. This position will be based in Al Ain Job Purpose To design mechanical and electromechanical Unmanned Autonomous System products and systems and to establish a local mechanical engineering design capability<B<Job Objectives To lead the definition, planning, management coordination and execution activities relating to UAS parts, airframe, propulsion system and drive train designs. To provide the mentorship required to train UAE national junior engineers and to help establish and to help establish the necessary infrastructure and processes Key Responsibilities Coordinate and cooperate with program managers and other lead engineers as regards the mechanical aspects relating to UAS programs. Lead and manage the airframe, propulsion systems and drive train design mechanical design teams Execute program management assignments effectively in accordance with the program schedule, milestone and available resources Support and facilitate product base-lining activities in a timely manner, consistent with the program major milestones. Support technical leads on subsystem level test plans and procedures Work closely with the Company's Operations so as to help define and implement product improvement projects such as rotor sub-assemblies, engine sub-assemblies and ground control station sub-assemblies and shelters Lead the following activities Development mechanical packaging for air and ground segment Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) Defining and conducting system level mechanical test in conjunction with the IVV team in order to baseline AV environmental conditions Establishment of technical contract documentation like RFP and SOW for mechanical sub-assemblies Establishment of technical contract documentation like RFP and SOW for power plant sub-assemblies Establishment of mechanical sub-assembly and major assembly technical requirements specifications Establishment of power plant sub-systems technical requirements specifications Establishment of design data packs for AV composite structures Identifying potential mechanical sub assembly suppliers and perform trade studies Define assignments, assess progress and work closely with a Capability Training coordinator so as to develop UAE junior engineers in accordance with a master training schedule. Support key milestone review activities including System Requirement Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical design Review (CDR) Establish technical capability within the company as regards mechanical packaging composite structure analysis, composite design, power plant and installation and drive train. Work closely with sub-contractors, SW and avionics engineering to define propulsion subsystems functional requirements and test requirements (HE and SW) adopting a tailored RTCADO-178B and RTCADO-254 processes. See to the establishment of product data packs and the obtaining of intellectual property relating to UAE mechanical sub-assemblies, and power plant and drive train systems See to the establishment of mechanical sub assembly, power plant and drive train system process documentation to support the company ISO certification process Comply with company statutory requirements, requirements, rules and safety requirements Participate in experimentation that is aimed at learning on a personal level while benefitting the company
