PROJECT ENGINEER - REPUBLIC OF DJIBOUTI Job - Michael Page Jun 11th 2012, 15:49 Eastern Africa - Port of Djibouti Perm Logistics, Transport, Hotel, Catering Added on 05/06/2012 About our client Our client, a leading actor in the port industry, is growing rapidly worldwide and is recruiting for its port in Djibouti a Project Engineer. Job description The project engineer should have a strong experience in structural analysis, design and construction, specializing in marine terminals, Port, Harbour and coastal jetty. You will be involved in management of large infrastructural projects, like port construction, LNG terminal. You will be in charge of the supervision of the construction works, analyze the proposed working methods of the Prime contractor and/or subcontractor. He will report directly to the General Manager who is the Port Projects Manager and assist him in delivering a safe, reliable, and quality project on a budget and schedule agreed with the project stakeholders. The Project Engineer should provide marine expertise: - Preparation of contract documents, scope of works, technical performance specifications, conceptual design and budget estimates, perform cost analysis; -Partake in tender technical & Commercial bid evaluations and detailed design reviews, liaison on design and construction issues both as design engineer and client project engineer; - Conduct site inspections, attend construction weekly and monthly progress meetings; - Identify, develop, evaluate and optimize all new marine infrastructure projects and related facilities project requirement; - Responsible for review and approval of technical submittals and ensure technical compliance during the detailed design, procurement and construction phases; - Assist with major technical decisions, as well as the overall scheduling and budgeting associated with the project; - Ensure that appropriate International Maritime Design and Company Engineering Standards and Codes of Practice are complied with during the design and project execution stage; - Implementing, of HSE related manuals, Firefighting plan, constructual manuals and procedures; - Actively participated in effective "risk identification" processes and actively manage risk mitigations plans; - Reviewed and commented on project safety plans and procedures.
