Job Summary:
Ensuring that the Health, Safety and Environment related functions are maintained and developed in accordance to the Corporate polices, OHSAS18001:2007, ISO14001:2004 and HACCP requirements. Ascertain that current working practices do not posses any hazard to employees, operations or environment
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Duties & Responsibilities
Setting HSE action plan according to the organization HSE policy, objectives and strategy, in coordination with the Director of QHSE.
Working towards HSE objectives setting tangible KPIs to determine progress and accomplishments.
Spreading the HSE culture and awareness within all levels of the organization using effective methods, evaluate outcome and report progress.
- Technical Duties & Responsibilities
Understanding the business functions and processes to enable him to determine what could be a sources of HSE hazards.
Conducting gap analysis to current HSE processes and work practices for related business lines, branches and project sites to determine the level of adherence to requirements.
Updating and delivering employee training programs related to hazardous materials and waste.
Promoting HSE awareness to newly employees and advanced training for specific categories jobs. Analyzing outcome and recommend improvements.
Engaging in planning and furnishing the yearly HSE audit program in consideration to the criticality of area/ process to be audited. Attention to be given to areas that have the highest impacts on operations or human fatality.
Performing regular HSE audits & Site Inspections as per set plan and when needed. Report findings to Director, QSHE to evaluate results and implement proper, Root-Cause-Analysis and corrective/ preventive actions.
Attending and responding all audit activities by external accreditation body or source. Understanding deficiencies and take proper action(s) in liaise with the Director, QSHE.
In coordination with Director, QSHE and concerned audited department head, reflecting audit findings in the issuance or update of any needed QMS document.
Attaining, updating and aware of related HSE regulations and legislations for knowledge and any further action.
Instituting and updating needed HSE policies and procedures, in coordination with the Director, QSHE. Ensuring they known and practiced by concerned disciplines.
Assisting in setting and leading Emergency Action Plan i.e. Emergency Prevention Plan, Emergency Evacuation Plan, Fire Drill..etc
Identifying all potential hazards associated with the work, issue needed documents and deliver required training i.e. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Job Hazard Analysis JHA...etc.
Evaluations and reporting of Fire related Systems to include; Fire Extinguishers, Alarm Systems, Electronic Exit Doors, Emergency Doors..etc
Engaging in the selection, training and qualifying of HSE Reps. and Fire Wardens.
Chairing the Safety Toolbox Talk management and evaluation for projects in sites ensuring they are being delivered to concerned team effectively.
Maintaining records keeping and hosting in the appropriate locations.
Summarizing and delivering the HSE related activities results statically i.e. Accidents/ incidents rates, Audits results, training hrs, NCRs corrective/ preventive actions...etc to the Director, QSHE for his further action.
Identifying sources of hazards harmful materials used in operations ensuring that they are well-protected, clearly labeled, appropriately stored, and clear instruction are available on their disposal and spill-clean methods.
Determining the sources of harm to health i.e. ventilation, noise exposure, radiation exposure. Furnish recommendations for improvements.
Ensuring appropriate personnel protective equipments is available and correctly used by concerned staff.
