Civil Engineer Job - Qatar National Broadband Network Jun 10th 2012, 11:46 SUMMARY Working within Q.NBN's Operations and Maintenance Division in the Technical Department, the Civil Engineer will supervise the construction of the central office (CO) and ensure that all CO and underground infrastructure are well maintained. The post-holder will report to the OSP Maintenance Manager. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Enhancing & maintaining the best performance for civil elements in CO (central offices). 2. Monitoring & evaluating Vendors related quality performance. 3. Quality assurance (Vendor follow up, supervise and monitor during Civil implementation by TQA & QNBN standards). 4. Following up all works related to CO, including: • New CO survey approval • New CO construction in terms of civil. • CO Maintenance • Progress reports regarding CO status. • New Buildings and locations. 5. Supporting other divisions & departments if needed, for all issues related to civil implementation. 6. Supervision, follow up and manage of all work related to fiber route's implementation: • Route's survey. • permits issuance • Route Excavation. • Quality assurance. • Quantities survey. • As Built Drawings. 7. Studying and checking the CO design including: the concrete base design, load capacity, and the foundation design for generators & tanks. 8. Studying the specifications and standards and applying of these standards in all COs. 9. Ensure that all frame agreements terms with different Vendors are implemented. 10. Participate in cross-functional teams to follow up certain tasks and/or workflow enhancement. 11. Conduct design drawings & layouts that address project requirements & requests (by using AutoCAD software) 12. Responsible for the security, Confidentiality & Integrity, of all information assets within his/her responsibilities in accordance with the company's Information Security Policies. 13. Prepare various progress reports.
