Process Engineer Job - Lafarge May 7th 2012, 11:32 Within the framework of the Process Department's objectives, the potential candidate is expected to work on various tasks, such as improving the efficiency and/or the effectiveness of the major equipments, and implementing systems/tools/procedures to enhance the performance of the production process. Main Activities / Responsibilities •The incumbent covers the technical and supervisory areas of process, and as such, provides both a progress and supportive nature which includes primarily identification and understanding performances of equipment compared with design, state-of-the art data bank results. •The incumbent must have developed good skills, a knowledge database, and references in order to develop a strong reliable know-how in these areas: Be involved in the field portion of process studies, trials, or modifications, taking measurements, making adjustments, and collecting and compiling all relevant data for the purpose of evaluation, providing conclusions and/or determination of follow-up action. Provide the plant with studies related to the equipment and/or processes that will have an impact on both quality and production. Audit the process-related quality of operation, making frequent check-ups and informing the operation group of any significant deviation from goals and procedures, and control proper updating of the process equipment record book. •In the environmental area, the incumbent assists in troubleshooting environmental matters, addressing specific issues. •The incumbent is involved in development studies, either at preparation stage and/or at the implementation stage, ensuring process issues are addressed. •Assist production personnel in troubleshooting and solving of operation problems, and work closely with the systems group in the development or modifications of control schemes. •Participate in the preparation of operating parameters in setting of goals, targets, or record procedures. •Provide input for cost budgeting and forecasting and control of expenditures.
