Instrument Technician Job - Qatar Vinyl Company LTD May 9th 2012, 09:35 Objective and Purpose of Position Assist the Instrument Supervisor in performing the maintenance activities of all instruments and control systems maintained under Instrument Section responsibility within QVC plant Duties and Responsibilities • Carry out the preventive or corrective maintenance activities of all instrument installations in a safe and efficient manner within the framework of the QVC Maintenance- and HESQ (Health, Environmental, Safety and Quality) policy. • Report to the Instrument Supervisor on the progress of maintenance activities. • Supervise contractor personnel working along with him. • Assist in identifying non-stock spare parts and to prepare their specification. • Do the quality inspection of new spare parts received by Stores upon instruction. • Participate and contribute to the development and periodical revising of preventive maintenance instructions of instruments and systems. • Participate and supervise instrument modifications/project and shutdown work as required by Instrument Supervisor/Engineer. Report progress to the superior as agreed. • To guide and help other technicians within the Section in performing their jobs to the optimum professional level. • To motivate and maintain the safety awareness and practice within the Section. • To assist national trainees whenever required. • To analyse abnormal conditions and recommend remedial measures. • To look into possible improvement in the plant maintenance and propose improved measures to Instrument Supervisor/Engineer. • Aquire and update adequate awareness of the QVC HESQ (Health, Environmental, Safety and Quality) Policies and Management Systems. • May participate in the 24-our Call Duty roster. • May act in the Instrument Supervisor position during his absence.
