-CRITICAL AND RISK ISSUES IN CONTRACTAssist PM and work out plans to minimize or contain risk issues.
- SPECIFICATIONS, DESIGN DRAWINGS & DESIGN UPDATES / VARIATIONS:Review, analyze and study for construct ability. Raise queries & proposals. Ensure availability to subordinates and initiate coordination priorities.
- SHOP DRAWINGS:Verify construct ability and verify availability of approved shop drawings in co relation with program of works.
- PLANNING & PROGRAM:Advise on sequence of execution & resource levels and usage then agree with PM. Implement with planner in program, inform site personnel of program & enforce implementation, secure periodic look a heads, identify needed resources, instruct and monitor staff development, implementation of weekly and daily programs, verify productivity rates on site and discuss with PM. Supervise data gathering & submit table for updates. Analyze progress of various trades and activities and identify improvement possibilities.
-COST CONTROL SYSTEM:Attend PM & Cost Control Engineer meetings, review cost reports, discuss cost situation with PM (& site staff), work out plans with Section Engineer to reduce or minimize cost. Introduce implement & monitor cost saving procedures & techniques. Implement resource allocation & material use policies as per company's standard procedure to enable controlling cost.
-SITE BUDGET (BUDGET ALLOCATION TO COST CODES): Receives budget (per unit basis and not lump sum) allocated to each cost code. Send labor and specific material budget to Section Engineer to enable controlling the cost.
-JOB COSTING (COST CODES):Assists PM to develop (with the Cost Engineer) the project's WBS, list of activities to be performed, and list of cost codes as per CSI; coordinates with Cost Engineer creation of new areas when deems necessary, splitting existing areas, etc; receives a copy of the weekly cost reports.
-MANPOWER:Study work program and sequence. Identify manpower needs based on productivity rates, allocate work groups and tasks, request manpower from PM, check productivity & correct deviations, make alterations in personnel to delete inefficiencies, propose wage alterations/bonuses, demobilize according to site needs to cut costs and provide relevant data for cost control
