My client is a large developer of FPSO projects, they are currently project managing the development of a large FPSO project in South Korea. Due to the development of the project, they now require an experienced structural engineer.
Key Requirements
Job Summary:
The Structural Engineer shall ensure that Topside Structural work related to the FPSO project is executed to meet:
*Class, Flag and Norwegian Regulatory Requirements
*Clients requirements given in the GTD and subsequent clarifications
*Specifications as established by developer for the FPSO, the subsequent Amendments to these specifications and the FPSO field specific specifications
*Ensure the Engineering activities related to Topside Structural work are carried out in accordance with the Contract Strategy; Shipyard being the FPSO "turn key" Contractor.
*Provide Structural advice to the Engineering Manager and the rest of the Project Team.
*Coordinate technical drawing review and "plan approval" of Topside Structural documentation in the project

Job Summary: The Structural Engineer shall ensure that Topside Structural work related to the FPSO project is executed to meet: *Class, Flag and Norwegian Regulatory Requirements *Clients requirements given in the GTD and subsequent clarifications *Specifications as established by developer for the FPSO, the subsequent Amendments to these specifications and the FPSO field specific specifications *Ensure the Engineering activities related to Topside Structural work are carried out in accordance with the Contract Strategy; Shipyard being the FPSO "turn key" Contractor. *Provide Structural advice to the Engineering Manager and the rest of the Project Team. *Coordinate technical drawing review and "plan approval" of Topside Structural documentation in the project Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *Ensure that all activities, for which he/she is responsible, are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements and the Project Management Manual. In particular health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment and equipment shall be taken care of. *Comment the Structural design including arrangement on operability, functionality, accessibility and maintainability to meet requirements in laws, regulations, class, flag and contract. *Prepare Structural technical specifications, documents and drawings required to clearly define the scope of work *Monitor and review Contractor's Structural activities and deliverables to ensure compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements *Review comments from Certifying Authority on design of the Structural discipline and assist in resolving issues. * Participate in 3D model reviews. *Report to the Engineering Manager any delays in Topside structural progress *Report to the Engineering Manager any failure of design or gap between the deliverables on the Structural discipline and the contract requirement, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. *Review and comment plans for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for all Structural Systems, and participate in such tests for critical systems. *Ensure satisfactory results of FAT and report to Engineering Manager in case of discrepancies. *Participate and give advice in the follow-up of results from FAT. *Assist Construction Managers in the Mechanical Completion and Commissioning to ensure the completed FPSO meets requirements within the Structural area. *Monitor and register the project processes and log improvement suggestions for future projects. *Communicate with Technical Authority responsible in Europe and inform of potential problems.
