Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a crew of
technically trained surveyors, performing field survey work for
Drilling, Engineering, Construction, Project Management,
Government Relations and others. Assignments are carried out
with a minimum of supervision, therefore, they require a high
degree of proficiency in the application of surveying methods,
the operation of surveying instruments and in trigonometric
computations in the field. Must be a recognized leader with
capability to provision, equip, direct, and ensure the safety
of field crews operating in remote areas under adverse
conditions. Must be able to resolve on-the-job technical
problems to ensure complete and accurate results. Mistakes or
incomplete surveys can result in errors in design or
construction costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in wasted
effort and lost time. Must be able to perform professional
survey work onshore. Possesses and uses his experience, in
performing detailed topographic surveys, establishing basic
control, and geodetic surveying. Shall be thoroughly familiar
with the proper use of the following specialized surveying
instruments:
